Lego contest or competition for middle school student? Ages: 10-14

I have a middle school student who has been building airplanes and spaceships out of Legos during our after school homework time. I would like to have him enter a Lego competition. Is there a listing of Lego competitions available?

Please take a look at www.robofest.net. I have had my middle school students competing for two years. It is a low cost, fun way to get started with competition.

There was a "LEGO Smart" contest; maybe they'll do it again in the future.

Sometimes local schools or clubs have small competitions. Also try looking for a local "LUG" (LEGO User Group -- see http://www.lugnet.com/).
In Texas, the TCEA has a competition as part of its convention. National Instruments did one a few times as well -- putting kids up against engineers, it was pretty fun.

Do you know about FIRST lego league. Go to USfirst.org FLL
